Nerv Gallery & Studios Opens in Dallas Featuring the Humano Art Exhibition and Reception, May 11 and 12, 2012

Nerv Gallery & Studios holds Grand Opening as 14 artists focus on the human condition in a recycled space with the Nerv mantra, "When art is facilitated and created, all is right with the world." End Quote

Dallas, TX (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2012 - Throughout history artists have focused on the human condition to tell their stories. Nerv Gallery & Studios, located at 4819 Woodall St. in the Warehouse District, just north of the Design District, is pleased to announce the opening of the Humano art exhibition and two Opening Receptions, May 11th & 12th, from 7:00 to 11:00 P.M. The exhibit will highlight the works of fourteen artists for one month, during which time Nerv will also host special events, visiting artists, and much more. The Humano exhibition will focus on the human condition, how people from different backgrounds can connect through shared experiences and ideas of what it is to be human. Bringing together local artists from Dallas, Texas and throughout the United States fills the gallery with those that are fairly established or well-refined and want to be a part of something new and those are emerging with proper representation after creating for many years.

The Humano artists include Mary Mecca, Jonathan Foisset, Zavier Lachia, Matt Goolsby , Oscar Chacon, John Calabrese, Chance Foreman, Abby Roccaforte , Linda Tien, Francisco Josue Alvarado Araujo, Chad Hoberer, Elisa Guardiola, Chelsea Brock , Ray Pratt. Nerv will also present visiting artist, Debbie Duncan, who will be showcasing unique jewelry, influenced by her travels to other regions such as Hong Kong. In addition to the artwork exhibited, there will be a live musical performance featuring singer and guitar player Andrew Rothlisberger and bass player, Brooks Martin, from the Denton Surfgaze band, Birds of Night.

Curator and producer Natalie Vaughan shared, "We are thrilled to share the opening exhibit of Humano at Nerv Gallery & Studios. We have a lot of plans for this gallery including traveling exhibits, offering an educational piece like a think tank, and doing outreach programs. Right now there is a waiting list for artists, but we have studio space for ten artists and offer unique Resident Artist opportunities that include studio space and constant representation, or only studio rental, or solely artist's representation or gallery representation. Additionally, some of the artists and I have had some interesting experiences together leading up to the Grand Opening including a pop up/secret show where the artists followed me to an undisclosed location to create in a different environment, ending up in front of Good Records, which was great. As art facilitators our goal is to build a collective here and keep artists working and growing; it reminds me so much of the Bauhaus movement, the beauty and the hope for the art world."

Nerv, the brain child of Curator and producer Natalie Vaughan and resident artist Mary Mecca, began from a desire to become facilitators and build a collective of artists who want the art world to grow. Located in the Warehouse District, just north of the Design District, Nerv is a gallery constructed from 100% recycled materials from previously loved sets, walls and trade show booths and includes many unique studio settings as well. Nerv also shares a building with Mecca Design & Production which has a panel of artists, carpenters, sculptors, and dream fulfillers on staff to help with creative vision. Nerv's mission is to facilitate artists with a creative playground, equipped with studio space, gallery/exhibition space, representation, tools, materials & a community of creatives to help motivate and inspire each other.
