Neil Metzer to Speak at African Mine Security Summit in Johannesburg
The African Mine Security Summit taking place on 8-9 April 2014, in Johannesburg, will feature a keynote address by Neil Metzer, Security Coordinator at the Chamber of Mines, South Africa.

Mining firms are tasked with up keeping overall security to increase resiliency and take a proactive approach in face of crisis. Organized by Fleming Gulf Conferences, the African Mine Security Summit aims to address the various security challenges plaguing the African mining Industry.
Taking place in Johannesburg on 8-9 April 2014, the summit will feature presentations, case studies and panel discussions on important topics like employee security through effective risk management, intelligence-led security operations, security measures employed inside the perimeter preventing unauthorized movement of precious metals, proactive approach implemented towards theft prevention, managing armed robbery and hostage incidents, developments in emergency technology and much more.
The keynote address will be presented by Neil Metzer, Security Co-ordinator at the Chamber of Mines, South Africa. Neil has a wide range of experience with a career in the military policing and security environment spanning more than 33 years. He has worked on Platinum, Chrome, Tin, Coal and Gold mines during this extended period. His presentation on crime based challenges facing the industry will throw light on the perspective where in some cases organised crime syndicates are better organised, funded, and better resourced than the SAPS and private security available to neutralise this threat.
