Neebeeshaabookway's New Seizure-awareness Book For Children, Catch Me If I Fall, As Introduced In Steppingstones Through Jake's Ranch

Top Quote Here is a very moving poem that touches not only the heart of a child, but the heart of a parent, as well. Reminding both child and parent, that when epilepsy is in someone's life, there needs to be a mid-way meeting point, relationship-wise, so caution is not over, or, under, done. End Quote
  • McAllen-Edinburg-Pharr, TX (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2008 - Neebeeshaabookway's Jake Smith Ranch Series brings seizures, head injury and tongue-loss to light (four fiction novels and three short-story volumes) and has now shed new powerful light for children. Three of the volumes (Steppingstones through Jake's Ranch) deal with short-stories, and in volume II, the story "Catch Me If I Fall" is shared with the main character, after he has a seizure. It is mentioned as being very simple, yet of far more help than many other books that try for the character's wife's attention (while in the library, after her husband's seizure). Thus, stepping away from the ranch-series, "Catch Me If I Fall", is birthed.

Two cartoon-type characters--a little cowboy on a stick-horse and his father, are set-up on photographs depicting the daily journey of the boy, through town (followed by his father). The lesson learned, is respect for parents, and respect for those children that face hardships--in this case, parents that have children with seizures, and the child that suffers the seizures. Limitations and freedom, are both seen as needed, though through two different pairs of eyes. Now your eyes can share this with your child, and your family--read it and shed light on a common problem that causes much confusion at times, as to freedom-issues.

The innocence of the child and the calmness of the father is shattered by the seizure scene in the book--though done by black-shadowed icons the powerful moment will teach the child how a parent feels--something that is not seen from a sufferer at such moments. This key issue then guides the father and son back into their daily journey--allowing a child, to still be a child, and grow, while both conquer fears and move on for a winning hand over them.

Done as a poem, it is easy help for deep inner wounds. And--the photographs of a Harlingen, Texas, are the backdrop--thus speaking to remind the reader of their own home-town daily-journeys. This book is available in black and white, or for gift-occastion, in color, and is 87 pages, available at lulu.com, by Neebeeshaabookway.

This little book is also a great led-in for the whole Jake Smith Ranch Series, which shows the deeper, more complex issues of facing seizures in the live's of those you love. For more information, see the jj-ns.read-jake-and-donate website.
