NBA Star Kent Bazemore Hosting 4th Annual Celebrity UNO Tournament to Benefit ARMS Foundation
Foundation impacts the community through numerous programs aimed to support children.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2019 - NBA playmaker Kent Bazemore is hosting his 4th Annual Celebrity UNO Tournament to benefit the ARMS Foundation. The public is invited to play the game so many enjoyed as a child with Bazemore and other celebrities on Saturday, Aug. 10, at Gathering Spot (384 Northyards Blvd., NW). Bazemore founded his 501c3 non-profit ARMS Foundation to promote, motivate and inspire any young child who aspires to be part of the next generation of leaders.
“Even though I was recently traded to the Portland Trailblazers, Atlanta will always be my home and I will continue my Foundation work from here as well,” said Bazemore. “The UNO tournament is a fun way for fans to interact with celebrities, while raising much needed funds for deserving students.”
Attendees can choose to play in the UNO Tournament ($50/ticket for adults and $35/ticket for students) or be a spectator ($25/ticket). Complimentary food and soda, as well as entertainment, is included with the price of admission. Tickets can be purchased on the ARMS Foundation website at www.ARMSfoundation.org.
Bazemore recently completed his seventh NBA season. Raised in Kelford, NC, a town of only 260 residents, he earned a scholarship to Old Dominion University. While in college, Bazemore won the Lefty Driesell Award, which is given annually to the nation's top defensive player. Undrafted out of college, Bazemore beat the odds to not only make the NBA, but to become a starter for the Atlanta Hawks. For the 2019-20 season he will be in Portland.
Raised by parents that instilled community and helping others, Bazemore established the ARMS Foundation in 2012 once he made the NBA. The ARMS Foundation has received numerous recognitions, including: The President’s Volunteer Service Award, 4-H Council National Legacy Award, City of Atlanta Proclamation, Fulton County Georgia Proclamation, Phoenix Award, and the Jason Collier Award.
The major partners for the UNO Tournament include: John Foy & Associates, Mattel/UNO, Noble Investment Group, Speedy Courier & Logistic, and Under Armour, among others. The Foundation also recently held its popular golf tournament at Hawks Ridge Golf Course.
Registration and sponsorship forms can be found online at www.ARMSFoundation.org or by calling Armica Nabaa at (561) 206-4148. The ARMS Foundation officially offers 501c3 non-profit status to its event sponsors, event participants and organization donors.
