Naughty Is Nice At Edinburgh Dungeon Alternative Christmas Grotto
There's no cause to panic for those on the naughty list this year as the Edinburgh Dungeon's infamous Satan's Grotto opens this Christmas from 10th - 26th December.
- (1888PressRelease) November 08, 2011 - Included in the regular admission ticket price, Satan's Grotto is the home of horrible history's naughty take on the dark side of the festive season - with Satan taking the place of the more traditional Santa in a sinister grotto.
Brought to life with live actors, grisly decorations and mounted reindeer heads, the dark King of Christmas waits in his lair to meet Scotland's naughtiest children as he rewards them for their wicked crimes, the naughtier the better!!
Children confessing their naughty deeds of this year to the Under-lord will be invited to plunge their hands into the Dungeon's Christmas Yucky Dip to win a prize.
Gothic Christmas decorations will be in place throughout the Dungeon - including mistle-toes, icy spiders' webs and black, spooky themed Christmas trees.
Visitors will also be treated to songs by the Dungeon's resident 'Carol Sinners' who have naughtily twisted Christmas favourites into 'Jingle Hells' and 'Rudolph the Red-nosed Slain Deer'.
If that weren't naughty enough, the Dungeon has also captured Santa and put him on trial in the 18th Century courtroom for charges including speeding, tax evasion and breaking and entering.
Visitors will be invited to bear witness to his trial and decide if Saint Nick should get nicked!
For those who make it through Satan's Grotto and Santa's trials, there's centuries of Scotland's most horrible history to discover, from terrors in the torture chamber to the pestilence of the plague.
'Satan's Grotto' and 'Santa's Trial' shows will be running at the Edinburgh Dungeon from 10th - 26th December and is included in the general admission price.
