Country music singer Craig Campbell has partnered with NTI to make PSAs about job services available to Americans with Disabilities, including Disabled Veterans. Using Campbell's 2016 county music hit "Outskirts of Heaven" as a background, the message conveyed is one of hope and freedom available to those with disabilities through job placement services offered by NTI.
Gene walks once again! Andy Dolan, and Gene Laureano a retired Army Specialist who suffered a Spinal Cord Injury will showcase how the ReWalk exoskeleton enables Gene to walk again. This moving demonstration highlights the achievements of persons with disabilities on the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
On December 3rd, from 4:30 to 7:30 PM, contemporary artist, Jon Sarkin will showcase his imagery at the 31 Nights of Light Event! As the result of a neurological effects of a stroke, Jon became a wildly prolific artist. His work has been featured in museums and publications such as GQ, The New Yorker, the Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as the New York Times.
Shane Burcaw, the author of Laughing at My Nightmare, comes to Boston to speak on the challenges he faces as a 21-year-old with spinal muscular atrophy on the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, December 3rd, 2016. Shane will be accompanied by the co-founder of Laughing at My Nightmare, Sarah Yunusov to discuss positivity when faced with adversity.
