National Metals and Options Exchange Holds Management Retreat
Last September 19 to 20 of the current year, National Metals and Options Exchange held its yearly Management Retreat.
- (1888PressRelease) September 23, 2013 - The two-day retreat gathered Executive Management, Project Heads, and Team Leads. Participants tackled team-building and how to acquire and utilize better team dexterities to achieve the company's objectives.
The first day involved a sprightly discussion about effective communication at work. Then everyone matched their personal Myers-Briggs Type Indicator personality appraisals to gain a wider perspective of National Metals and Options Exchange's work environment. The appraisals gauged the way a person engender relationships, takes into account and utilize information, comes up with decisions, and the way he / she manages priorities. It is no revelation that National Metals and Options Exchange's managers and leaders are full of outgoing personalities. It was also inspiring to know that the MBTI data substantiated the fact that contradicting sections of the management team stabilize and back one another every day, and that not one manager's methodology to achieving company goals is naturally more fruitful than another's.
The second day concentrated on how to successfully direct a team toward bigger goals. One significant insight managers gained was the expediency of conveying the "why" of a designated task, not merely the "When". Employees who grasp the purpose motivating the tasks designated to them, on top of why those tasks have been given particular priorities, become more educated decision-makers who can then take on more responsibility. In the later part, attendees formed smaller groups to outline the issues they felt were presently distressing National Metals and Options Exchange and how they would envision those issues to be resolved. ExeCom imparted their hope that managers will start to take a bigger look at National Metals and Options Exchange further than the limits of individual projects, recognizing innovative business prospects, and imparting any movements they recognize in their customers and designated projects.
One of the notable accomplishments of the retreat was being able to gather employees from different divisions of the company. As a company with many offsite offices, it is a valuable chance to bring co-workers together in one occasion to discuss National Metals and Options Exchange's various projects. The participants have assured to carry with them the learning they have gained and share with their respective teams.
