National Marina Day Event Scheduled at Captain John's Marina Big Bear
As part of a nationwide observance, Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina invites visitors to come celebrate "Welcome to the Water" on National Marina Day on June 14, 2014.
- Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) May 31, 2014 - Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina has a lot planned for National Marina Day on Saturday, June 14, 2014. The Big Bear Lake Marina invites you to help celebrate and to enjoy a day out on the lake.
"Welcome to the Water on National Marina Day celebrates not only boating but all water sports," said Serena Saunders, marina manager at Captain John's Fawn Harbor & Marina (North Shore) and Captain John's Marina Big Bear (South Shore).
"Our goal is to help families find new outdoor activities for fun and fitness. We encourage people to experience boating and other water sports such as paddle boarding, kayaking, canoeing, wakeboarding and waterskiing."
Established in 1995, Captain John's is the only eco-friendly marina on Big Bear Lake. Nestled adjacent to the wildlife sanctuary of Grout Bay, the surrounding forest and wildlife make it a destination for both nature lovers and water enthusiasts.
A full service marina located within a secluded harbor, Captain John's is popular because it has a lakeside beach, picnic area, event location, horseshoe pits, and much more. The marina hosts a variety of community activities, sponsors a women's stand-up paddleboard club, and is both family and dog friendly.
Saunders said, "Existing boaters and water sports fans are always ready to celebrate with a day on the water, but on this day we ask them to bring a non-boater out to share the experience. We hope you will visit us to learn about water sports, boating, and to enjoy the events we have planned."
