National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Dr. Kalani Manuel, PhD as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

Native to the Hawaiian Islands in Kalihi, Ohau, Dr. Kalani Manuel graduated from a prestigious private school, KSBE Kamehameha, Class of 1977. Always drawn to helping people, he eventually found himself pursuing a career that involved therapy to those in need. Offering mental health counseling to all those in need, even those that can't afford treatment, their ability to pay has always been secondary to their desire to get better.
"I am not traditional by any means," Dr. Manuel said about his mental health counseling approach. "I don't dictate what my clients do. I provide options and let them choose. We work on a session by session basis. I don't believe in the 3-5 days a week therapy sit downs with a plan of action dictated by the client."
As a therapist at Pathfinders Life Counseling, Dr. Manuel teaches his single philosophy in life, which states that "there are no failures, just future successes". In the future, he hopes to open a special school to assist children and adults in learning different ways to cope with society, as well as their perceptions of society, because he does not believe that the standard education process effectively prepares students for what awaits them in the world. He also aspires to build a complex for abused victims to re-adapt to the world with all the necessary tools to move forward in life without fear.
Dr. Manuel holds an AS in Computer Information Systems, a BS in Computer Science, a MA in Psychology, and, most recently, a PhD in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Oneida University in 2014. A former alcohol and drug abuser, Dr. Manuel is now an ordained, non-denominational Christian reverend who is married to his best friend and loving wife, Cheryl for the past 23 years. His personal story and life experiences speak to his character and his sense of achievement and he is proud to be able to pay it forward to today's generation.
