- Cleveland-Lorain-Elyria, OH (1888PressRelease) January 16, 2015 - Joan E. Rosenthal, Owner of Marigold Catering, has been recognized as a Distinguished Professional in her field through the National Association of Distinguished Professionals for her commitment to excellence in Catering Services. She will be featured in the upcoming edition of the NADP Women of Distinction Magazine.
Joan E. Rosenthal founded her company in 1987 as a single division of a business concierge company called Servicetime Company LLC. Servicetime, which provided timesaving services to busy employees, was contracted with local businesses to set up lobby kiosk locations and offer dry cleaning, laundry, shoe shine, massage treatments, car washes, oil changes, and catering services. With the exception of catering, all services were outsourced and managed by the concierge staff. Catering sales escalated and, after two years, all of the other service options were divested and Marigold Catering was born.
"Today, Marigold employs approximately 75 full-time and over 200 part-time staff, operating three separate divisions, including a corporate catering division, a social catering division with multiple exclusive venues, and a B&I division, including a restaurant and two cafeterias," Ms. Rosenthal said. "My role has evolved from one of the direct hands-on event planning and even execution to serving today as the PR face of the company with a primary focus on sales, client relationship building, and community services and philanthropy."
Prior to founding Marigold, Ms. Rosenthal spent 15 years in a corporate business setting working for several large food manufacturers, including Kraft, CBC Foods, and Diamond Crystal Foods in sales and marketing. She gained experience in food service management working in various food management roles for the Hyatt Hotel Corporation and Servomation Company, where she ran the food service for the former Cleveland Municipal Stadium, which had a seating capacity for over 30,000 guests.
With aspirations of continuing to grow the three divisions of Marigold Catering and ensure the longevity of their future in the market, while simultaneously creating cutting edge and innovative offerings for their growing product portfolio, Ms. Rosenthal is eager about the future of the business.
Ms. Rosenthal holds a BA in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the University of Denver and an MBA from Cleveland State University with a focus on management and organizational development. She is also the recipient of numerous awards for her catering services, including a 2011, 2012, and 2013 Best On-Site Caterer Award from CBC Magazines Connectors Choice Awards and a 2012 Distinguished Green Certified Caterer from Ohio Green Restaurant Association.
