Ian M. Pfeiffer began his career in the photography business in January of 2013 after experiencing an extremely vivid dream in which his camera's viewfinder possessed a power that enabled him to witness the truest essence in every subject he aimed his camera at. Deciding to fully invest in the business, Mr. Pfeiffer purchased all of the necessary tools to begin on his path as a photographer as well as videographer.
Being owner and lead photographer of King Me Photography, Mr. Pfeiffer oversees all of the usual aspects of running a business, such as expenses, website management, and marketing. However, he believes focusing first and foremost on his client's end-vision of their photos/videos is the single most important aspect of the photography/videography business. Possessing strong communication skills, being flexible, and having an open mind are crucial. There is also much more than meets the eye for getting that "perfect shot", such as lighting, angles, reflections, etc. It is much more complicated than most would ever imagine.
"One person's taste in art can be completely different from another's taste," Mr. Pfeiffer noted. "If someone hires me to take their photos, I want to make sure they receive photos that they, themselves enjoy looking at, regardless of whether or not I think the photos could be better. The term 'better', after all, is subjective in the field of art. It is important that I keep a dialogue going with clients while shooting so that I know which creative direction I need to take the session in order to satisfy that particular client's preferences."
Specializing in wedding and engagement photos, family portraits, corporate headshots, as well as promotional events and pet photography, Mr. Pfeiffer primarily works in the suburbs of Chicago. He also works with clients from the city of Chicago and enjoys traveling downtown at his own leisure to take street-style and architectural photos.
Mr. Pfeiffer hopes to build a fully operational multimedia production company within the next 10 years that will hire only the most talented artists of their genres. This would include photographers, musicians, dancers, singers, songwriters, poets, painters, and more. He would like to have a core group of artists that he can rely on so his production company can cater to all varieties of art projects as a one-stop-shop entertainment/media/production business. By focusing on quality over quantity, Mr. Pfeiffer believes he can direct all of his energy and efforts on creating timeless art as well as providing edgy, new-age photos and videos to keep up with today's styles and trends. He seeks to connect the past century with this century, while delving into the unknown depths of the next century - all in the name of art.
