Charles Hubler began his career in law enforcement in 1981 after having served in the US Marines Corps. From 1981 to 2012, he was a sworn California Peace Officer for the Mill Valley Police Department, San Rafael Police Department, and San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. He achieved an advanced certificate from the California Commission on Police Officers Standards and Training (POST), conducted countless investigations relating to criminal activity and traffic accident investigations, as well as learned all about polygraphs and their value in finding truth and deception.
Now a private polygraph examiner as owner of Verified Polygraph, Mr. Hubler provides services that include gathering pertinent information from the person or agency requesting the polygraph exam and decides on the proper test format. He then composes the proper and relevant comparison test questions to deal with the subject matter in question. Next, Mr. Hubler follows a strictly regulated set of procedures, including both pre- and post-test interviews, in addition to data gathered by the examinees physiological responses to the questioning and comes to a determination of either 'Deception Indicated' or 'No Deception Indicated'.
"My 32 years of law enforcement and investigative experience gives me a high degree of personal perception during the interview portion of a polygraph examination," Mr. Hubler said regarding his expertise. "I also have a great deal of experience in getting information from people who don't necessarily want to give it, in addition to having a good sense of when I am being lied to."
Retiring from the police force in 2009 after suffering a cumulative trauma to the vertebra in his neck and lower back and having underwent surgery to correct it, Mr. Hubler decided to open his private practice full-time, relieving the physical aspect of the job behind him. During his time served, he earned numerous commendations, recognition awards, lifesaving awards, as well as a Silver Medal of Valor and Marin County Peace Officer of the Year award for saving several lives in an apartment fire in the city of San Rafael.
Mr. Hubler is a graduate of The Backster School of Lie Detection, receiving the school's accreditation and diploma as a fully qualified polygraph examiner along with additional certification in regular and advanced Post Conviction Sexual Offender Testing (PCSOT).
