National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Dr. Shelley E. McIntosh as an Executive Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) August 13, 2014 - Dr. Shelley E. McIntosh, recent School Administrator and current Educational Consultant for Child Focused Consulting Company, LLC, has been selected as an Executive of the Year Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.
Dr. Shelley E. McIntosh co-founded Child Focused Consulting Company, LLC in 2005 with a mission of providing professional development services to educational institutions to increase teacher capacity, especially in urban schools and surrounding areas. Over the past nine years, she has facilitated professional development sessions. Her new endeavor is to provide a Teacher Institute on campus to provide continuous support weekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly. In addition, she provides support as reading and mathematics interventionists to significantly improve achievement for all students with a special commitment to those students who are underserved.
"Supporting teachers and students today for a better tomorrow inspired me to focus on academic success," Dr. McIntosh stated. "This involves building teacher competency and student academic knowledge and skills. Our vision is a society in which all students are afforded their civil right to be highly literate."
Dr. McIntosh's biggest goals include acquiring a district, state, or national level position to impact education, as well as contractual agreements with schools and/or districts and ensuring that all students are highly literate. She is passionate and committed to quality education for all students and is willing to do whatever it takes to see this happen.
In addition to holding a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies and Elementary Education, Dr. McIntosh also holds an MA in Curriculum and Instruction/Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction/Teacher Education from the University of Houston. She holds a Texas and Michigan teacher certification and a Michigan school administration certification. Dr. McIntosh taught as an assistant professor in the Department of Urban Education at the University of Houston Downtown name for five years and as the principal for an area elementary school for six years.
Dr. McIntosh is a member of Education Think Tank, National Minority Educators, and Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principal Association. She is the recipient of the Jew don Boney Sr. African American Image Award through the University of Houston-Downtown, an Excellence in Teaching Award through Iota Phi Lambda Sorority Inc., a Faculty Development Award through the University of Houston-Downtown, a Community Partner Award through the Perfecting Community Development Corporation, and was the co-recipient of Project Block Retest Procedures and Test Items Bank Development for Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities through the University of Houston-Downtown.
