National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects David Chisholm as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

- Houston, TX (1888PressRelease) June 01, 2014 - David Chisholm, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Bioplate LLC and Owner of Southern Surgical Technologies LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes David Chisholm's commitment to excellence in Healthcare.
David Chisholm, who holds a Double Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Business Management from Rice University, began his career in 1995 working for Inter-Medics (now Zimmer) servicing the surrounding Texas Medical Center metro area. It was during this time that Mr. Chisholm was able to earn his Orthopedic Consultant title while he coverted 17 surgeons and 25 hospitals to use his natural hip, natural knee, acumed trauma implants or aesculap pedicle screws for spine surgery.
For the past five years Mr. Chisholm was a US Sales Manager for the world's first BioSurgery Company (while employed at Covidien), before Integra recently acquired it for $260 Million. He now serves as a turnaround specialist for med device companies that have over $2 Million in annual sales. He currently acts as the VP of sales and marketing for Bioplate, where his responsibilities range from converting physicians to managing budgets to running global marketing efforts, such as gaining hospital group purchasing decisions to allow their cranial implants to be sold and stocked on the shelf.
"Convincing physicians to switch to a different medical device requires tremendous aptitude, confidence, and proper evidence based medicine, or EBM," Mr. Chisholm said, who also noted how his schooling at Rice University gave him the ability to think and speak analytically with healthcare professionals. "It's all about healthcare economics these days. As a young sales rep I also wanted to find a solution to my own pain after my multiple knee surgeries required to stay NCAA eligible and maintain my Division 1 scholarship, which had me trying to find helpful innovation that patients, doctors, and hospitals were unaware of or needed a liaison to make the conversion happen."
Mr. Chisholm has had much success in the industry thus far, including successfully launching BMP at Medtronic, the world's first orthopedic medical breakthrough. He also successfully launched DuraSeal Neuro & Exact, the world's first CSF leak preventer for brain and spine surgery that prevents patients from having an excruciating post-op pain, as well as the Mammotome biopsy at the University of Texas Medical Branch, which eradicated the aggressive need for open excision breast biopsy methods.
With great aspirations of helping the healthcare system when it comes to corruption, Mr. Chisholm hopes to get more involved without letting politics get in the way of his respect for his industry.
