National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Joseph M. Araiza as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry

Araiza, Owner and Chief Executive Officer of JS Civil Engineering, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Joseph M. Araiza's commitment to excellence in Civil Engineering and Construction Consulting.
Joseph M. Araiza, a 1987 graduate of Central Union High School, who was born and raised in Imperial Valley, El Centro, California, began his career immediately after graduation working as a field and laboratory technician for testing soils, aggregates, and construction materials at Southland Geotechnical (Landmark Consultants). Soon after he was asked to move to Palm Desert, California, to develop and manage their new branch office. In 1994, he moved to Fresno California to advance to a project engineer/testing manager of testing and inspections department for another Engineering firm.
By 2000, Mr. Araiza felt it was time to rethink his career options since he felt he could not go any further. Although he didn't have a college degree, he did study courses at Fresno State University to become more knowledgeable in the field. By 2001, he juggled a career working for the City of Clovis while also overseeing his small business, Clovis Technical Testing, where he performed concrete compression breaks for several years.
"I was told I had to make a choice to close my company or leave the City because there could be a conflict with some of my clients and job functions of field inspections," Mr. Araiza explained. "I chose to close my business because I had already moved up to the highest pay level at the City in a 3-year period."
Mr. Araiza continued to climb the ranks, serving as branch manager for the largest engineering firm in the nation, Professional Services Industry (PSI), and later as superintendent/project manager for a general contractor overseeing a staff of 83 building a solar farm for PG&E. But in July 2013 he was ready to go off on his own again, forming JS Civil Engineering, a company that performs home inspections in the Fresno, California, area. He then joined National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) as an Associate Inspector in October 2013 and opened the first Fresno NAHI Chapter in January 2014.
As the only home inspector in the Central Valley that is a certified master inspector (CMI), American Society of Home Inspectors (ASHI) certified inspector, California Real Estate Inspection Association (CREIA) and a National Association of Home Inspectors (NAHI) Associate home inspector, Mr. Araiza's firm also offers engineering construction consulting. In just nine months, he has been able to place his company on the map through marketing and a very broad sense of knowledge in the field. His son Taylor recently joined him and is learning the aspects of the company, while his two daughters are currently changing the company logo. He hopes the business will stay in the family for many more years to come.
Mr. Araiza holds certifications in the following areas: troxler nuclear gauge operator; health and safety; CPN radiation safety officer; resident engineer; certified international project manager; master project manager; registered construction inspector; water distribution system operation and maintenance; and certified master inspector. He is also a member of NAHI, ASHI, CREIA and FAR (Fresno Association of Realtors).
