National Association of Distinguished Professionals Selects Chiwhei Richard Chou as an Honored Member of the Executive and Professional Online Registry
Chiwhei Richard Chou, Vice-President at DHS Systems LLC, has been selected as an Honored Member of the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. The selection recognizes Chiwhei Richard Chou's commitment to excellence in Manufacturing.
- Spokane, WA (1888PressRelease) December 20, 2013 - Chiwhei Richard Chou, who holds an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University, an MBA in Marketing with a minor in Finance from Rutgers University, first worked for NASA Space Shuttle Test Site in Mississippi as a lead mechanical engineer working on energy conservation projects.
Now the VP of engineering and R&D for his current company, all aspects of the business's product must go through engineering release with Mr. Chou's approval. In 2008, the company was awarded the opportunity to set a standard for mobile power utility trailer for the command post platform in battlefields. They were forced to deliver the system to the field, located at Iraq and Afghanistan wars, while they were still developing in the R&D stage. In the end, they were given a contract award of $340 million for five years, which became the US Army's type classified system of choice.
"My experience in product development and product management from various industries in my career, including energy exploration, oil field drilling, fluid power, consumer products, industrial products, military products and services," Mr. Chou said about his overall success. "I am also capable of picking up the task with quick study, come up with a solution, pulling my team together and getting the best output out of the cross-functional teams."
Mr. Chou also spent some previous years exploring entrepreneurship as a gas station/car repair/convenience store owner, as an independent construction general contractor, as a personal finance advisor, and investor. Although he ultimately got back into the engineering field, all of his professional experiences and endeavors taught him a lot about working with people, being his own boss, and earning a fine reputation as a businessman with an engineering background.
Inspired by Bill Gates as the pioneer in PC software and system development and having become a philanthropist, donating more than any other world leading billionaire in the world, Mr. Chou hopes to also contribute to the success of a bigger company in the future. He would like to participate in some major product development and product life cycle management in electro-mechanical products.
