- New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2011 - Narconon Riverbend kicks off National Recovery Month honoring graduates with long term recovery. Their highly effective alcohol and drug rehab program has a success rate of greater than 75% of graduates staying clean and leading productive lives.
National Recovery Month (Recovery Month), celebrated during the month of September, began in 1989 and evolved to National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month (Recovery Month) in 1998, when the observance expanded to include celebrating the accomplishment of individuals in recovery from substance disorders. Now in its 22nd year, Recovery Month highlights individuals who have reclaimed their lives and are living happy and healthy lives and also honors the treatment and recovery service providers who make recovery possible.
"We are honored to highlight some of our graduates and share how the Narconon program helped them with the hope that others will see that long term recovery is possible for them as well. And we thank National Recovery Month for all of their efforts to educate and get the word out that recovery is possible," says Cathy Steiner, Executive Director of Narconon Riverbend.
The following anecdotal evidence of stable recovery from the graduates is extraordinary and yet it is a daily occurrence with participants doing the alcohol and drug rehab program at the Narconon Riverbend Center.
"For the first time in over a decade I am happy…" says D.C., a Narconon Graduate. "This has been by far the most rewarding and exceptionally beneficial thing I have ever done in my life. I walked in here five months ago a broken, dejected, pathetic excuse for a person. There have been more times than I can count when I wanted to give up and pack it in. But the most important thing I learned here was to push through whatever it seems like I cannot. So I did and I have made the most incredible turn around to date in my life. For the first time in over a decade I am happy, focused, motivated and confident, plus I'm comfortable in my own existence… I wake up every day with a smile on my face. Everything I learned here has been invaluable and without it I doubt I could really feel this confident. This program saved my life and I am eternally grateful. Thank you staff! Thank you Narconon Riverbend!"
Some others Narconon Graduates report: "This program gave me the means to get myself clean and to say clean forever." - P.H.; "I never thought I would find freedom or self-respect. Thank you!" - C.M.; "I feel that I have achieved true happiness." - J.T.; "The Narconon Louisiana (also Narconon Riverbend) program has given me my life back." - J.S.; "I feel inner-peace and self-respect" - J.C.; "The thought of being sober for the rest of my life doesn't even make me nervous, I actually look forward to it." - J.H.; and "Narconon has saved my life by completely changing me into a better father, husband, son, and brother." - Z.A.
Steiner concludes, "With a success rate that is 4 time higher than the national average there isn't room here to honor all of our stable long term recovery graduates but they are in our hearts and we are proud the productive lives they are now living."
