NAIOP New Jersey Transportation and Logistics Regional Update
Infrastructure Improvements and Region's Response to Superstorm Sandy among Topics on the Agenda.
- Newark, NJ (1888PressRelease) November 17, 2012 - New Jersey's logistics industry continues to deliver the goods in support of the tri-state region's growth, with the state's ports and transportation infrastructure critical to the health of commercial real estate and the economy in general. On November 30, the New York Shipping Association Training Center in Port Elizabeth will be the venue for NAIOP New Jersey's "Transportation and Logistics Regional Update and the Response to Superstorm Sandy" program.
The agenda will include a report from key officials of the New Jersey DOT and the Port Authority of NY/NJ on current major infrastructure improvements, the agencies' response to the recent storms and their plans for building greater resiliency into the system. In addition, a panel of private sector representatives of the trucking, rail, container terminal and logistics industries will discuss the future, including the challenges and opportunities for commercial real estate.
Confirmed speakers include New Jersey DOT commissioner Jim Simpson, logistics expert Anne Strauss-Wieder, and Rick Crawford of Norfolk Southern. Additional speakers are being finalized.
The program, slated to begin at 7:45 a.m. and conclude at 11 a.m., will offer Continuing Education credits (pending approval) for licensed real estate brokers, attorneys, planners and accountants.
