- (1888PressRelease) March 27, 2013 - Mysore feels proud once again as Mysore Railway station receives the precious National Tourism Award under the category "Tourist Friendly Railway Station" for the year 2011-12. The award declared by Union Ministry of Tourism was presented by President of India Shri Pranab Mukherji in a ceremony held at Delhi on March 18. SWR Divisional Railway Manager Mr. Vinodkumar and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Dr. Anup Dayanand Sadhu received this award on behalf of the railways in presence of Chiranjeevi, the Union Minister of Tourism. Every year this award is given by the Ministry of Tourism to different sections of Travel and Tourism industry, in order to recognize their performance in the previous year. The award also boosts a healthy competition in the tourism sector indirectly helping promotion of tourism.
