Home design website unveils 8 Alice-inspired 3D room designs, and launches an Alice in Wonderland treasure hunt in the run up to the film premiere.
Designers in both fashion and interiors have gone crazy for Alice in Wonderland. We are seeing a big focus on over-sized furniture and fantasy designs
(1888PressRelease) February 25, 2010 - Leading UK furniture and home accessories website mydeco.com today unveiled a collection of fantasy 3D room designs inspired by the eagerly anticipated Tim Burton film 'Alice in Wonderland'.
Alice fans can re-create mydeco's stunning Alice inspired garden for as little as £518, or a fantasy Alice bathroom for £3,900 while the most expensive room design - a lavish fantastical kitchen - will set you back over £17,000!
mydeco.com stylists have designed eight fantasy interiors featuring over-sized furniture and accessories, using the mydeco 3D room planner tool. Each 'look' was created using 3D models of real furniture and accessories available for purchase on mydeco.com, from retailers including House of Fraser, BTC By Design, Watts London and independent designers such as Undergrowth Design and JP Ceramics.
mydeco's editor Annie Deakin comments, "Designers in both fashion and interiors have gone crazy for Alice in Wonderland with their Spring/Summer 2010 collections. We're seeing a big focus on over-sized furniture and fantastical designs in some of our major retailer's new ranges. Playing with scale is a novel and easy way to bring a bit of Alice magic into your home."
All eight Alice inspired rooms could be created in real life for a total of £38,422 using products available to purchase on mydeco.com.
mydeco also launches an Alice in Wonderland treasure hunt today, which will give fans the chance to win an Alice-inspired prize - from Mad-hatter tea sets to White-rabbit tea towels - every day in the run up to the film's release on March 5th. To enter the competition, visitors to mydeco's Facebook fan page simply have to find the daily prize, hidden within Alice inspired 3D room designs or moodboards created by mydeco stylists.
Alice in Wonderland fans will also get a chance to win tickets to see the film when mydeco launches their hotly anticipated augmented reality iPhone application, which will enable iPhone users to drop a 3D model of real furniture or fantasy Alice inspired items including the Red Queen's throne or a giant toadstool into a photo and move it around to create their own fantasy room scenes.
