- (1888PressRelease) November 20, 2013 - YANGON - The non-profit Hinrich Foundation (http://www.hinrichfoundation.com) released the Myanmar Sourcing Report: Wooden Flooring & Decking (http://www.chinasourcingreports.com/csr/myanmar-wooden-flooring-decking) with the support of its partner in development, Global Sources (NASDAQ: GSOL http://www.globalsources.com).
The Report features profiles of 25 export suppliers with verified manufacturing and production capacity. It also includes descriptions, prices and packaging details for 148 top-selling export products ranging from plank flooring to decking.
Report survey results show EU and Asia-Pacific key target export markets
The survey of Myanmar wooden flooring and decking manufacturers featured in the Report shows:
* 52 percent of makers will maintain quotes for the next six months;
* 48 percent expect export sales to increase by more than 20 percent;
* 76 percent will target the EU market, and 24 percent the Asia-Pacific, and;
* 69 percent of producers will focus on solid hardwood flooring.
Monthly total capacity of featured suppliers is 1,626 tons.
"Although exports remain low, Myanmar suppliers generally forecast outbound shipments to surge in the next few years as trade restrictions are lifted," said Alex Boome, Program Director of the Hinrich Foundation. "A critical challenge facing the sector is lack of access to capital, which keeps suppliers from expanding their capacity and enhancing operations."
One exporter featured in the report, Win Mar Shwe, Managing Director of Home Pacific Myanmar, said: "To get a market for export wasn't easy before and could only be possible if we participate in the exhibitions abroad. Now, with the help of the Hinrich Foundation and Global Sources, developing an export market is much easier and I really appreciate it."
