- (1888PressRelease) July 20, 2012 - My Tech High, an online Technology and Business-focused Charter School Program, Enters Northern California Fall 2012
Tech-savvy, Entrepreneurial Teens in California are Able to Get a Head Start in Their Careers Through New Charter School.
Starting this August, the Academy of Arts and Sciences Charter School, in conjunction with My Tech High - California, will be offering an online, tuition-free program focused on technology and entrepreneurship for students ages 11-18 across five counties in Northern California. Tech-minded students will now have the option to follow their passions in technology, digital animation, computer game programming, entrepreneurship and more-all from the convenience of their homes.
As a way to connect like-minded parents interested in an online tech education program, My Tech High will be hosting a summer family movie event in Santa Rosa on July 17th at 1 pm.
In 2008, Founder and CEO, Matt Bowman launched My Tech High in response to concerns that parents, children and schools lack adequate resources to develop important technology and business skills that our country desperately needs.
"America was founded on the principles of innovation and entrepreneurship and we're just not teaching enough of those skills to our youth," says Matt. "My Tech High works closely with parents to design a personalized learning program for each child. We believe that a strong foundation in technology is essential for success-in college, career and life."
This unique charter school program offers a wide range of online core curriculum classes in addition to teen-friendly tech topics such as Game Design, Web Design, Robotics, Flash Animation, Audio Engineering, Digital Arts, Financial Literacy for Teens, and many more.
All online courses are supported by California-certified teachers who help the students successfully progress at their own pace throughout the year.
On July 17, families interested in a home-based, tuition-free online tech education program are invited to attend a private showing of the movie "Ice Age: Continental Drift" in 3D in Santa Rosa. Prospective students in Mendocino, Lake, Sonoma, Napa and Marin counties who submit an RSVP by July 12, 2012, are invited to attend free of charge (limited seating available). RPM Revenue Drivers (a Utah-based consulting company) worked with My Tech High to identify ways to expand their presence in California. After researching and identifying homeschool and other local community groups that My Tech High could work with, RPM helped plan the movie showing event and get the word out so California's youth could benefit from this great opportunity.
