Musicians Volunteer Talent For Children's Art Therapy Organization, Portraits Of Hope
Voluntary Voices' song, Masterpiece, is beautiful, poignant, and illustrates how individual acts of kindness can, collectively, impact and maybe even change a life.
- (1888PressRelease) March 03, 2011 - Voluntary Voices, the brainchild of songwriters Ethan Young and Vernon Heard, is a co-op of songwriters and singers that have teamed up to create a beautiful song in support of Portraits Of Hope. Portraits Of Hope is a non-profit organization that creates public art projects working with kids and volunteers (through hospitals, schools and social service agencies) in creating them. Portraits Of Hope conceives and develops one-of-a-kind motivational art projects that merge the production of dynamic public art works with creative therapy for hospitalized children and civic education for students of all ages.
Voluntary Voices has created the song "Masterpiece" as a tribute to the work and philosophy of Portraits of Hope and its founders Bernie and Ed Massey. Says co-writer Vernon Heard, "We hope this song touches the hearts of many. It's a beautiful song and if it allows us to further the mission of Portraits of Hope and create some awareness.. we're happy to do it. I'm proud to be a part of this effort."
Voluntary Voices pledges a majority of the proceeds from sale of Masterpiece to the Portraits Of Hope foundation. Their generous donation will help to support Portraits of Hope projects. POH art projects have involved tens of thousands of youth and adults in high-profile civic collaborations that have visually and spectacularly transformed everything from airplanes, buildings, and the New York City taxi fleet to blimps, tugboats, and NASCAR racecars.
