Multi-Lingual Singer Beilei To Ring In Chinese New Year With Pop-R&B Album

- (1888PressRelease) January 29, 2014 - The Chinese New Year, which is celebrated by billions of people, is approaching and Shanghai's talented, multi-lingual singer, Beilei, is releasing her debut U.S. album "In Between 2 Worlds" on January 31st to coincide with the Year of the Horse. Beilei's work is strongly influenced by R&B, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, and Pop mixed with French Chanson and Chinese popular standards. Born in Wenzhou, China and raised in France, Beilei is part of a new generation of artists redefining the music scene as they blend Chinese and global influences on which she is "adamant about bringing more cultural awareness of her Chinese heritage to the Western world through music."
"In Between 2 Worlds" is a musical journey through different languages. Recorded in Shanghai, mixed in Los Angeles, and mastered at New York's Sterling Sounds studio, the album consists of dance tunes and romantic melodies sung in English, Chinese and French. She presents herself as a multilingual artist that is not afraid to share her passion with different languages; we may speak in different languages but music only has one.
Beilei has said she is influenced by powerful female artists and that they are her inspiration for her music. There are notable songs on the album such as the song "Zaijian" it is reminiscent of an Alicia Keys' song with the soft tempo and a soulful beat. "Losin' Control" is a dance tune exhibiting the similar spunk and pop vibe of Beyoncé songs such as "Single Ladies" but with an Asian pop quality. The first Chinese song to be selected as semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition (ISC) in the R&B/Hip Hop category, "My One & Only" also harkens to a Beyoncé's track "Halo."
The album's title track "In Between 2 Worlds" is a combination of all three languages; beautifully crafted to give you an amazing experience in the growing world of music. Chosen as the musical theme for the 2010 Shanghai Expo's French Pavilion and featured on China Eastern Airlines flights, "Romantic Wedding" is a beautiful love story, while "Perfect Woman" is sung with a powerful set of vocal cords evoking Adele's strong and sensual voice.
