  • Abilene, TX (1888PressRelease) July 28, 2010 - MTBC, a unique healthcare IT company, will be presenting a free webinar this Wednesday, July 28th, on the final rule for achieving "meaningful use" of an Electronic Health Record (EHR). The webinar will be presented by Muhammad Chebli, Vice President of Information Technology for MTBC, at 1:00 p.m. EST. Any healthcare professionals interested in attending can register by clicking here.

The final rule, which was released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on July 13, 2010, provides healthcare providers with a clearer picture of the requirements they must satisfy in order to earn substantial incentives under the HITECH Act. The Act, which was implemented as part of the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA), provides incentive bonuses in excess of $44,000 for physicians that are able to show "meaningful use" of certified EHR technology. Providers that fail to successfully implement EHRs in their offices will eventually become subject to penalties under the Act.

MTBC continues to educate its clients and other healthcare professionals on "meaningful use" through its free, EHR-focused webinar series. Wednesday's webinar will be the fourth in the series, and will provide a comprehensive overview of the "meaningful use" requirements as they are defined under the final rule.

MTBC also works closely with its clients to assist in the implementation of its proprietary EHR-MTBC EMR 4.0-and to ensure that they are using the EHR in a manner that will qualify them for the bonuses available under the HITECH Act. The company is committed to providing not only a certified EHR solution, but also a high level of personal support to ensure that its clients understand exactly how to use MTBC EMR 4.0 to achieve "meaningful use."

The final rule on "meaningful use" can be accessed online at http://www.ofr.gov/OFRUpload/OFRData/2010-17207_PI.pdf.
