Moxie Media Named Sole Provider of Online OSHA Maritime Training
New Orleans-based Moxie Media, Inc. has been named the nation's first and only authorized provider of online OSHA Outreach Training for the maritime industry by the United States Department of Labor and OSHA.
- New Orleans, LA (1888PressRelease) February 07, 2012 - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has announced its selection of 10 OSHA authorized training providers to deliver 25 online courses as part of its Outreach Training Program.
Of these 10 companies, only Moxie Media, Inc. was selected to provide training in OSHA's three maritime courses: Shipyard Employment, Maritime Terminals, and Longshoring. OSHA officials cited Moxie's ability to provide high quality online instruction and capacity to meet OSHA's strict requirements for training providers as chief reasons for the award.

Moxie will offer three targeted 10-hour OSHA Outreach Training courses via the internet to employees working in shipyard employment positions, marine terminals and ports, including longshoring and stevedores, beginning later this year.

The OSHA Outreach Training Program teaches workers how to identify, prevent, and eliminate workplace hazards including the use of personal protective equipment and safe operating procedures. The course also informs workers of their rights under OSHA including employer responsibilities, the ability to file complaints and where to find additional employee safety resources.
