Movie Maker Names Oaxaca FilmFest As One Of Top Film Festivals In The World
In just four seasons Oaxaca FilmFest has landed on the coveted Movie Maker Magazine list of Top 50 Film Festivals Worth The Entry Fee.
- (1888PressRelease) April 17, 2013 - For more than 10 years, MovieMaker, a leading resource on the art and business of making movies and the world's most widely read independent movie magazine, has compiled this annual guide for aspiring independent filmmakers looking to get their work onto a wide festival circuit while remaining as economical as possible - a process integral to the essence of independent filmmaking.
Oaxaca FilmFest accomplishment was historic. It made the list in just four years becoming the youngest festival to ever make the list. They were also the first Mexican Festival to ever make the list and this year one of only two festivals from Latin America.
This year Movie Maker expanded the list to 50 festivals instead of the previous 25 to encompass a more diverse range of fest locations. Sifting through over 5000 film festivals around the world, they took into account factors such as each festival's history, prizes, judging panel and audience, the subsequent success of its alumni, and, of course, submission fees.
