Morning Star Fishermen uses aquaponics to put out the fires of famine and poverty
Morning Star Fishermen is committed to raising awareness as it relates to world hunger through education and training of aquaponics.
- (1888PressRelease) September 17, 2011 - Florida based Morning Star Fishermen has collaborated with Heidi and Rolland Baker of Iris Ministries to build an aquaponic research and training facility in Malawi Africa. The Iris Ministries orphanage in Malawi has greatly benefited from the new aquaponic system. It is providing fresh fish and produce, and also a source of employment for local villagers. Morning Star Fishermen is looking forward to continuing its' relationship with Iris Ministries and continuing training for the villagers Malawi Africa.
Morning Star Fishermen is committed to educating communities on sustainability globally using aquaponics. "Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to raise fish and grow vegetables and the whole community eats for a lifetime," says Hans Geissler, the founder of Morning Star FIshermen.
