  • (1888PressRelease) October 18, 2011 - Redwood City, Calif. - YottaMark, Inc., the leader in traceability and authentication solutions, today announced it has helped more than 200 produce grower/shippers achieve compliance with the Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI). These produce companies have implemented the HarvestMark PTI solution in production for compliance with buyer and industry requirements, aligned with the December 31, 2011 milestone.

"We are proud to assist produce companies in becoming compliant with PTI guidelines," said J. Scott Carr, CEO of YottaMark. "With the December PTI deadline fast approaching, our customers tell us that foodservice operators and retailers are requesting or requiring PTI compliance. We've spent three years working closely with growers and shippers across categories, harvesting processes and growing regions to deliver a solution designed for the real-world demands of the produce industry."

Currently, more than 200 HarvestMark PTI systems are in production in fields and packinghouses, with new customers deploying daily. Jem-D, Astin Farms, Alpine Fresh, Flavor 1st, and Delta Produce are the newest HarvestMark PTI customers who will deploy in advance of the December 31st deadline. Jem-D is deploying HarvestMark PTI for case and pallet traceability for its cucumbers, peppers and tomatoes packed in Atlanta, McAllen, Detroit, Kingsville and Montreal. Alpine Fresh deployed HarvestMark PTI this week on asparagus with plans to implement across their operation. Flavor 1st, based in North Carolina, has selected HarvestMark PTI for its tomatoes. Delta Produce, based in San Antonio, Texas, will deploy HarvestMark PTI on tomatoes and avocados.

HarvestMark PTI, in use by shippers from Canada to Argentina, makes compliance with the Produce Traceability Initiative easy to implement and manage for the cost of hardware and a simple flat annual fee. HarvestMark PTI includes all the hardware and software needed to produce PTI-compliant case, RPC, and pallet labels. Trace-back, trace-forward, and optional production data is securely hosted at HarvestMark.com, delivering unique and valuable supply chain reporting, and enabling on-demand traceability anywhere in the supply chain.
