More Soul, Funk and Food - The 2nd Annual San Diego Soul Food Festival Return
A-List Productions anticipates a huge turnout this July 7th at Qualcomm Stadium.
- San Diego, CA (1888PressRelease) July 03, 2012 - The 2nd annual San Diego Soul Food Festival, one of the summer's biggest events' will return to the Qualcomm Practice Fields on July 7th from 12p.m. to 6p.m. The event is hosted by A-List Productions and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Semper Fi Fund. This 21+event will feature food samples from San Diego's best barbeque and soul food restaurants.
This year's restaurant lineup includes Tilted Kilt, Coop's BBQ, Chris' Ono Grinds, Dash Gourmet Burgers, and Hunters Steakhouse, and many more. Heineken, and Playa Grill will serve drinks, and two complimentary drinks are included in the ticket price.
Entertainment for the event includes a headlining performance by Bernard Jackson from the R&B group Surface. The group is kicking off their reunion tour by filming a live music video for their hit song 'It could have been you' at the Soul Food Festival! DJ Girth and DJ Kray-Z-K will also be performing throughout the day.
As a way to say 'thank-you' to the troops for protecting and serving the United States, A-List Productions is honored to support the Semper Fi Fund by putting on the San Diego Soul Food Festival. A-List Productions founder Eric Edwards feels a personal connection to the Military: "Both of my brothers and my father were in the military. I am so thankful that they all survived the war and came home healthy and unharmed. For this reason, I want to support and give back to the wounded warriors who fought for America."
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic chairs and beach blankets for this truly "soulful" and one of a kind San Diego experience. Additional activities include a drawing with prizes and tickets to SeaWorld, a getaway to San Diego Palomar Hotel, plus other sponsor gift cards and apparel. The first 500 people will receive two gold coins to help judge the "Best Soul Food and Best Barbeque" contest and the first 1,000 people will receive a free Soul Food Festival wristband.
