Moodys Worldwide, specialists in fashion accessories give their reaction to the latest trends that are set to take place in the fashion world for 2011.
(1888PressRelease) March 04, 2011 - With the season well underway following Fashion Week shows in New York and London and underway in Milan, the team at Moodys Worldwide gave their delighted reaction to this season's fashion trends. Designers have followed a new and exciting direction, heavily emphasising fine fabrics and quality.
Fabrics were sumptuous, with a strong emphasis on tactility demonstrated by traditional velvet, tweed, silk, wool, cashmere, chiffon and mohair. Detailing and texture featured heavily, drawing on traditional crafts, such as appliqué, embroidery, lace panelling, sequins, beading and crystals:
"It was lovely to see a return to some of the most enduring traditions from English couture. There is a certain unmistakable sense of luxury, of richness of texture and feel that you can only get working with the traditional fabrics. We have a wonderful Georgette Border Beaded Silk Scarf which really captures this opulent feel. Its hand finished with sparkling bead work and hand knotted tassels, perfect for eveningwear and so in tune with the trend for classic style and quality".
The emphasis on plush textures combined with artisan detail was also seen in menswear this season, again to the delight of the Moodys team:
"We have also had an entire collection of menswear accessories for some time now, all crafted in the finest English silk. Our handkerchiefs feature twill silk, Moire or 'water' silk, tweed and then interwoven cashmere and silk and traditional hand finishing. They co-ordinate with our ties and scarves; and for scarves we also work with herringbone wool, overprinted jacquard and fine check wool. Our values have always been about classic British styling, the finest fabrics and attention to detail".
The new trend for quality is being described by British Vogue as "a beautiful fusion of quintessentially English skills" and the team at Moodys Worldwide could not be more delighted. The philosophy seems a perfect fit with this exciting new independent British fashion brand:
"Moodys was born from an overwhelming passion for timeless British styling, for luxury, for craftsmanship and for exquisite detail. We founded to capture three enduring principles: quality, tradition and heritage. We work with a 10th generation family run English silk-weaver and much of our collections are made by artisan craftspeople in South East England. For menswear, we have an extremely comprehensive range. We have the ties and silk handkerchiefs for any look from the city executive to the 'dapper gent'; and the scarves that finish outerwear from suits to formal coats to favourite denims. And then there's still the formal wear with vintage styled cummerbunds and bow ties. For womenswear, we have the very finest quality eveningwear with chiffon, satin, chambray and silk stoles and scarves. Then we have winterwear with beautifully soft Pashminas, cashmere scarves and silk stoles or the warm, cosy narrow scarves. Then there's the fashion range of versatile scarves and sarongs. And it's all produced to the highest possible manufacturing and ethical standards."
