Monte De Oro Winery Set to Release Their First Red Desert Wine - Legato
Monte De Oro is pleased to present its inaugural release of its Red Dessert Wine - Legato. In musical terms, "legato" indicates that musical notes are played or sung smoothly and connected without any noticeable breaks. This ideally defines our red dessert wine - a smooth composition of Zinfandel and Cinsault resulting in a long, sweet, velvety finish.
- (1888PressRelease) December 02, 2011 - In musical terms, "legato" indicates that musical notes are played or sung smoothly and connected without any noticeable breaks. This ideally defines our red dessert wine - a smooth composition of Zinfandel and Cinsault resulting in a long, sweet, velvety finish.
The Zinfandel component came from Monte De Oro's Galway Vineyard while the Cinsault component came from the Tuclota Vineyard.
Our 2007 Red Dessert Wine was barrel-aged in 100% French oak barrels. It was bottled in May 2011 and bottle aged for 6 months before its release in December 2011.
Monte De Oro's 2007 Legato is a jammy, deep, burgundy colored dessert wine. With its golden rim edges, the wine offers a pleasant bouquet of raisins, black currants, and caramel with hints of clove and maple syrup. Upon taste, the mouth explodes with ripe plum, figs, brown sugar, ripe cherries with toasted nuts, vanilla and tinges of black licorice. The 2007 Legato provides for a long, smooth, sweet velvet finish, making you wanting to come back for another taste. This wine would go great once reduced down to syrup form drizzled over "adult waffles" with berry infused mascarpone cheese or a berry cobbler.
The 2007 Legato will be available for purchase online at www.montedeoro.com on December 3rd. Please feel free to call 951-491-6551 for more details.
