Model 9746 Switch System Offers up to 40 Channels of A/B Switch Capacity in One Rackmount Chassis
The new Model 9746 high density A/B switch system allows IT Network Managers to add switching capacity as it is required. This system can accommodate from 8 to 40 channels.
- (1888PressRelease) October 17, 2013 - Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, USA, announces the new Model 9746 multi-channel A/B switch system. The rackmount style chassis measures 19" W x 8.75" H x 13" D (48.3 x 22.2 x 33.0 cm). This chassis is designed to hold up to 40 channels of RJ45 A/B switches with monitor ports. The switches can be purchased in increments of 8 channels and added to the chassis as required. The advantage of this switching system is that the IT Manager can build his system as his needs increase.
The user can manually control each channel separately via a knob located on the front panel. Each knob controls one channel. Each switch channel has a monitor port located on the top panel, one monitor port per channel. Monitor port wires are soldered to the rotary switches at the same points as the common port wires.
The internal wiring of each switch utilizes T586B CAT5e rated material and CAT5e rated connectors, however the switches have not been tested for an overall Category rating. All 8 pins of the RJ45 interface are switched. Each switch is manually operated and does not require any power.
The 5 switches in the 9746 RJ45 A/B Switch Series include: Models 9746/8 8-Channel, 9746/16 16-Channel, 9746/24 24-Channel, 9746/32 32-Channel and the Model 9746 which is the 40-channel switch system. This system approach enables the IT Manager to add quick and easy backup switching capability to his data network by utilizing this high density switch system.
