  • Akron, OH (1888PressRelease) June 22, 2010 - The largest mobility van dealer in the United States has launched its completely redesigned website, with a substantial increase in its van and adaptive equipment information for people in wheelchairs that need to use an accessible vehicle. The site hasn't had a major overhaul for nearly 4 years. Since that time, the company's product lines have grown substantially and a makeover with new photos and updated information was long overdue. As the modernization project wore on, it was clear to Guy Hanford, MobilityWorks Director of Marketing, that it needed more than a few cosmetic changes. Said Mr. Hanford "We really needed to review and update all of the information on each product that was being presented, which was more than 70 individual pages, and make it much more presentable for people to understand what's available. The industry changed a lot in just a few short years."

There's a little bit of everything for everyone in the newly designed site, which includes a Google search tool on the home page for easily finding what you need. Wheelchair passengers, handicap drivers and caregivers can find information about wheelchair docking systems, tie-downs, hand controls, scooter lifts, transfer seats, rental vans and several other unique products that are new to the marketplace. According to Mr. Hanford, "We are really making a statement about choice. It's not just about getting from point A to point B."

The site also features the new Conquest Wheelchair Motorcycle that has received a lot of press and news coverage lately, in addition to being seen at many motorcycle rallies in the past few months. In addition to wheelchair vans with lifts and lowered floor minivans, you can also find a robotic wheelchair retrieval system called the TMN Robot.

According to Mr. Hanford, the most important thing to the MobilityWorks team is that their customers, who come in all ages and with different physical disabilities, can find a mobility product that meets their needs and driving preferences. "Independence is more than just being able to roll into a van. It's about getting into the vehicle that you want to drive or ride in and then finding the right solution that can make that happen."
