- (1888PressRelease) November 25, 2014 - This new mobile iOS App is the latest addition to the Site Ox toolbox of automated, self-service, on-demand products for the cloud hosting industry. The iOS App makes it easy for customers to order and manage services, and to manage their Site Ox account from any iOS mobile device. The iOS App provides a simplified interface for automated deployment, hosting, and leasing of Unix / Linux environments on a wide array of platforms. These platforms include IBM AIX on Power, HPUX on Itanium, Solaris on SPARC or Intel, Linux on Power or Intel, and others.
The new Site Ox iOS App is an easy-to-use, non-technical interface that project managers, software developers, disaster recovery managers, system administrators, or others can use to automatically deploy and lease complex Unix systems such as IBM AIX on Power, HPUX on Itanium, Solaris on SPARC or Intel, and Linux on IBM Power or Intel. In the mobile iOS App, configuration selections have been simplified to allow quick and easy leasing, and automated deployment of cloud based systems. Using the iOS App, the customer only needs to select an operating system, number of CPU's, amount of memory and storage, and submit the order. Everything else is automated via the Site Ox Virtualzation Management (SOVM) system. Connection information is sent to the customer via email, and the newly built Unix/Linux systems can be accessed from the mobile devices using freely available SSH Apps.
The "Site Ox" iOS App can be downloaded from Apple iTunes at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/site-ox/id857513846 or by pointing your mobile device browser to http://siteox.com and click on the link to the iOS App. The "Site Ox" Android App will be available soon.
Information about SOVM (Site Ox Virtualization Management) can be obtained at http://siteox.com/sovm
The primary business focus of Site Ox is providing services for the commercial cloud hosting industry. Historically, Site Ox has been oriented around Unix and Linux hosting which included IBM AIX, HPUX, Solaris, CentOS Linux, Ubuntu Linux, and others. The future for Site Ox is expanding our capabilities in the Unix and Linux worlds, and to integrate SOVM with a wide variety of user interface tools and deployment engines, such as Openstack. The purpose of this integration is to enable Unix/Linux capabilities within those environments previously relegated to an Intel-Only world, and to simplify or consolidate the administration requirements.
