MIU Men's Health Foundation Requests Grant Proposals Supporting Men's Health
The new MIU Men's Health Foundation is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations requesting grant support for generation of research of men's health issues.
- Detroit, MI (1888PressRelease) March 23, 2012 - In support of generating awareness and funding research for treatment of men's health issues, the new MIU Men's Health Foundation is seeking proposals from nonprofit organizations requesting grant support.
Any 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in Southeast Michigan - defined as Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, St. Clair and Livingston counties - may apply for a grant from the MIU Men's Health Foundation. Only proposals promoting awareness, education, research and treatment of prostate cancer and men's health related issues will be considered, reflective the Foundation's expanded mission and new name, as of 2011.

The MIU Men's Health Foundation does not donate to individuals, capital campaigns, political organizations, religious organizations for religious purposes or governmental agencies.
Within the past year, the MIU Men's Health Foundation donated $25,000 to fund prostate cancer research and assist patient care with the DaVinci robot at Beaumont Hospital. In November 2011, the MIU Men's Health Foundation and its partners coordinated the first-ever free Men's Health Event, providing more than 700 men, even those without health insurance, with free health screenings and information sessions to give them a better understanding of how to stay healthy. The Foundation also has supported educational seminars throughout southeastern Michigan, dedicated to men's health topics.
