Misty Brown, D.D.S. utilizes her In-Office daycare so she and her team members can spend quality time with their babies during work days.
Several of my patients have noticed an even more relaxed atmosphere with lots of joy in the office.
(1888PressRelease) February 09, 2010 - Ask any working Mother what they worry about the most during any day of the week, and almost every single one would answer "The safety and well being of my child (or children)". Many of Dr. Brown's team members have small children under the age of 4 years old. Several years ago, Dr. Brown held a meeting with her employees to discuss what makes them the most anxious during the work day. "I was shocked to hear that the number one answer revolved around proper care for their children during their work day". The second highest cause of anxiety was the cost of daycare and the very least cause of their stress was their job related duties.
Dr. Brown was very moved by their feedback. "I've had the same team for many years and never realized the effect it had on these amazing ladies, and was determined to do something about it". One of Dr. Brown's hygienists joined her to learn what they had to do in order to make an In-Office daycare. The grueling rules and regulations were a challenge, but ultimately provided a very safe and functional daycare for the exclusive use of Dr. Brown's team members. Dr. Brown hired and pays the salaries for a former Governess and Pre-School teacher to handle the babies and toddlers. It is part of Dr. Brown's benefit package for her empoyees.
The outcome has been not only comforting to the employees of Dr. Brown, but Dr. Brown became pregnant with a little one herself in 2007. "It was perfect! We were so very happy with the high quality and success of the In Office daycare. It was a blessing once Samantha was born. We scheduled patients around her feeding times so I could be with her. It was priceless to say the least." Other employees of Dr. Brown who chose to breast feed their babies were able to do the same. "There is not enough money in the world to replace that time with your babies," according to Sharla Wilde, one of Dr. Brown's employees.
Since opening the In-Office Daycare, Dr. Brown's employee attendance has been 99%. Dr. Brown has noticed they are even more focused and excited about taking care of patients and doing their jobs. "Several of my patients have noticed an even more relaxed atmosphere with lots of joy in the office." Statistically speaking, the time it takes to drop off and pick up children from daycare facilities takes 1.5 extra hours per day on average. That time could be used much more efficiently with quality family time.
I agree with Dr. Brown when she says, "We've got one chance to raise our children. It goes by so fast, I don't want someone else doing it nor do I want to miss out on any of it!" Two of Dr. Brown's employees, in addition to Dr. Brown were able to witness the first time their babies crawled, talked and walked. There are some things money can buy, witnessing those things...PRICELESS!!!
