Miss Massachusetts Belleza Latinas Host Bone Marrow Drive to Save Lives

Join the Miss Massachusetts Belleza Latinas 2017 Send Off Party as they host a recruitment drive to register potential bone marrow donors to benefit patients suffering from diseases like leukemia and lymphoma whom are in dire need of a transplant.

The drive, held on behalf of Gift of Life Marrow Registry, will be on June 24, 2017 at the Comfort Inn & Suites Logan International Airport, 85 American Legion Highway
Revere, MA from 6-10:00 pm.

There is an urgent need to increase diversity in the registries: 55% of Latinos, 75% of African Americans and 75% of multi-racial individuals cannot find a donor.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the drive. It’s fast, painless and all information is confidential. If you are between the ages of 18 and 45 and in general good health, you are eligible to be screened and join the worldwide registry for patients in need. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.

Although there is no cost for a volunteer to join, there is a $60 lab processing fee for each kit. Gift of Life is not government funded and relies on the generosity of donations to help offset these costs.
