MIRA TELECOM grants financial and scientific support to complex physics research presented at the 31st European Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy, EUCMOS 2012
MIRA TELECOM, in collaboration with the Physics Faculty (University of Bucharest) and Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN HH, carried a complex physics research, the conclusions of which were presented at the 31st European Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy, EUCMOS 2012 (http://www.phys.ubbcluj.ro/eucmos2012/) held in Cluj between 26th and 31st of August 2012.
- (1888PressRelease) September 17, 2012 - The project called „ A wideband pulse NQR (nuclear quadrupole resonance) spectrometer for detection of the 14N nuclei" aimed to detect the transitions between the quadrupole energy levels of the 14N nuclei in the range from 700 kHz to 6 MHz is reported. The spectrometer design allows to observe the effect of various arbitrary sequences of RF (radio frequency) pulses on the investigated substance.
The research work was presented by Prof. Dr. L.C. Giurgiu (photo), from Horia Hulubei National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering - IFIN HH and included: spectrometer architecture, the main units of the NQR spectrometer and experimental tests results.
EUCMOS congress organized for the first time in Romania
The European Congress on Molecular Spectroscopy is a famous scientific event, with a 62 year tradition, organized every two years. Romania is hosting the congress for the first time.
The congress was held at Babeș Boyali University from Cluj and gathered over 300 researchers in areas such as nature sciences, physics, chemestry, biology and medicine.
The participants came from all over the world: the USA, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Austria, Poland and Russia. The opening of the congress was attended by the president of the International Board Committe of EUCMOS, prof. Dr. Austin Barnes from Salford University Great Britain and the president of the Romanian Academy, Ionel Haiduc.
The scope of the Congress was to encourage the exchange of ideas and the collaboration among people interested in molecular spectroscopy, to help in the identification of new trends and in the definition of future objectives in this field. All aspects of spectroscopic methods and techniques (including applications), as well as computational and theoretical approaches for the investigation of structure, dynamics and properties of molecular systems were discussed.
Some of the topics were spectroscopy of surfaces and interfaces, spectroscopy of biological molecules and applied spectroscopies (archeology, geology, minerology, arts, environmental analysis, food analysis and processing).
Role of molecular spectroscopy:
Spectroscopy is the study of the interaction between matter and radiated energy. Spectroscopy is cathegorized in atomic, molecular and nuclear spectroscopy, according to the nature of the emission quantum system (atom, molecule, nucleus).
Molecular spectroscopy is a research method that measures and analyzes the quantity of light absorbed, emitted or spread by the molecules in the composition of an artificial or natural material, following its light interaction.
MIRA TELECOM (www.miratelecom.ro) - a company with 100% Romanian private capital, founded by Stelian Ilie, President of the group - with 14 years of experience on the Romanian and international market, started its activity in October 1998, with radio-communication equipment distribution. Service diversification has represented the basic principle in the company's evolution.
MIRA TELECOM provides today complete security, IT and telecom services, backed by an efficient and operative integrated service, which brings added value to the customers' operations. In the past years the company has invested massively insecurity technology research.
