MIRA TELECOM awarded for best education project within the competition Romanian CSR Awards
MIRA TELECOM has won the 1st prize in the education section, companies with less than 500 employees category, within the competition „Romanian CSR Awards", organized for the first time.
- (1888PressRelease) April 07, 2013 - The company has been awarded for the internship and scholarship program „MIRA TELECOM Student - Programming the future", developed between March 20th - July 15th 2012.
The program was initiated after having identified the need of some internship program for the university and master students from Bucharest Polytehnica University. The five students who participated in the program had the possibility to put into practice some of the knowledge acquired within the university classes, under the coordination of MIRA TELECOM specialists and understood the advantages and challenges of team work.
The participants performed a complex scientific research in nanotechnology area, within the project "Nano Programing - controlling a system for atomic and nano scale manipulation". At the end of the program, upon the obtained results, 3 winners were designated, awarded with excellence scholarships worth 2,000 Euro. All through the program each participant student received a 1,000 lei wage.
MIRA TELECOM developed the program in collaboration with the Center for Surface Science and Nanotechnology, from Bucharest Polytechnica University, under the guidance of Prof. Dr.rer.nat. Marius Enăchescu, the General Director of CSSNT and technical coordination of Andrei Floroiu, Software Architect from MIRA TELECOM.
The company has managed, through this project, to support the young future scientific research specialists and motivate them to develop their intellectual potential in Romania, after graduation, to the benefit of the community. The poject's results are also the ground for subsequent research within the R&D Center owned by MIRA TELECOM in Joița (Giurgiu county).
The first edition of the competition Romanian CSR Awards 2013, organized by the website CSR Media, gathered 84 Social Corporate Responsibility projects, implemented in 2012, with a total value of more than 4 million euro. The projects registered in the competition were evaluated by the eight members of the Jury, between February 15th - March 15th.
Within the competition, 31 companies have been awarded and the registered projects were evaluated according to 8 categories: environment, education, health, community support, employees' support, CSR campaigns on Facebook, internal CSR campaigns.
To designate the winners, the members of the jury took into account the impact, the relevance of the projects for the communities and the results. They also took into account the number of beneficiaries, employees and volunteers involved in the project, as well as the efficiency of the invested budget.
