In most cases, the inspiration comes from a recommendation found on a social network or from within our circle of friends. There's no better source than other travelers who have experienced everything first hand for finding expert information on certain destinations or themes: the best rock bars, the best places to see a beautiful sunset, the most photogenic highways, etc. So, why not suggest travelers their next trip through the inspiration of millions of people across the world, thanks to a travel application for smartphones or tablets? This is the goal of these new guides: to offer better content, unique recommendations, plus amazing and original images from any city, country o destination created by a huge community of travelers, not editorial companies, just people and soul.

    The startup company, minube (minubeapp.com), the best online project in Spain according to The-eShow and awarded by Apple as best iPhone App in 2011 in Spain, beating Instagram, has worked for the last four years on its social travel network (more than 450.000 travelers) and, last year, on social travel apps. The new Social Travel Guides have been recognized as "the best mobile development" by The App Date, one of the most renowned forums dedicated to mobile applications, established by Movistar. These free guides will offer unique recommendations and multimedia content shared by travelers, plus essential plans created by people and specialized on one destination.

    Apart from the free content created by the huge community, in the Social Travel Guides, any traveler can suggest and create "Essentials", special itineraries for destinations across the world. You can find them on the "Inspiration" section of the App. It is not just for journalists or writers, it is easy and available for all travelers: for all of them. There are plans for every type of traveler (culture seekers, shopaholics, food fanatics, etc.), which allow travelers to generate an income through the in-app purchase system, through which the users can download the special recommendations on their mobile devices, paying $0.99 (depend on any market). The income is then divided between the travelers who created the guide so that they can earn money and continue to enjoy what they love the most: traveling to any part of the world.

    The process is simple: do travelers have their own lineup of the best hamburger joints in New York? Are they familiar with the best pubs in London to drink a pint? Which are the ten beaches in Australia that surfers cannot miss? Travelers now have the opportunity to share them through minube's mobile apps so that millions of people across the world can enjoy the same experiences.

    This project began with a set of recommendations (in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German and Portuguese) for discovering Spain (one of the most visited places for travelers around the world) with these guides: Barcelona, Madrid, and Granada, three of the most popular and vibrant cities to explore.

    In Madrid, for example, various authors have created Essentials for shopping in the city's coolest neighborhood, the best bars for gin and tonics, the most authentic hamburgers, a walk through the old quarters, and exploring the city's various historical palaces. In Granada, an author has created an Essential with a special itinerary for making the most out of your visit to La Alhambra, Spain's most universally-recognized monument. The authors share the income from the sales of each one of these thematic guides. This inspires travelers to think about the possibility of earning money while enjoying their next trip.
