Mindfire Solutions conducted a mega IT quiz contest among all engineering, MCA & Management students of Orissa on 6th March, 2011 at Rotary Bhawan Bhubaneswar. End Quote

(1888PressRelease) March 12, 2011 - Bhubaneswar, India: Mindfire Solutions conducted a mega IT quiz contest among all engineering, MCA & Management students of Orissa.

Better known as the "Debasish Das Memorial IT Quiz", the contest was organized by Mindfire Solutions in association with March Ahead (a quizzing organization), with potential media partners being Times of India (Print), RedFM (Radio), Naxatra News channel (Television). This event was successfully conducted on the 6th of March 2011 at Rotary Bhawan, Bhubaneswar. We got over whelming response from almost every Technical as well as Management colleges in Orissa. The announcement of this event was made in newspaper, radio, television and also on the web (Twitter, Facebook, search engines).

It was a gala event with the response for the DDM IT Quiz 2011 being really awesome. Around 120 teams out of 190 registered teams attended this quiz contest. Each team was allowed to have two members. The atmosphere at the venue was electrifying. Candidates from premier Engineering & Management colleges of Orissa started flocking in early in the morning. Initially there was a screening round of two batches of 60 teams each out of which 6 teams were shortlisted for the Grand Finale. The quiz questions were based on General IT awareness with no hardcore programming stuff. The event was covered by local news channels of Orissa like OTV, Naxatra & MBC.

Xavier's Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar grabbed the first & second position whereas the third position was occupied by National Institute of Technology, Rourkela. The winners were awarded with trophies and cash prizes of Rs. 30,000, Rs. 20,000 & Rs. 10,000 respectively. This quiz contest was a tribute to Late. Debasish Das (a former employee at Mindfire Solutions), who lost his life in an accident. This IT quiz was one of his last wishes.
