Millennium Plaza Hotel Dubai Celebrates Candle Power During Earth Hour
As part of its contribution to Earth Hour on March 29th 2014, the Millennium Plaza Hotel Dubai invited guests to celebrate with complimentary canapés and beverages at its candle-lit Atrium Café, located on the lobby level of the hotel.
- (1888PressRelease) April 02, 2014 - As a centerpiece to the atmospheric gathering, a cake decorated with the number '60' symbolized the 60 minutes of Earth Hour, while elsewhere in the lobby, hundreds of tea-lights were used to spell out the words under the Millennium logo. Larger candles were used to illuminate the front and back entrances of the hotel.
According to Daniel Mathew, General Manager, Millennium Plaza Hotel Dubai, the occasion had a serious purpose in alerting guests to the reasons for the uniquely lit lobby: "While the WWF Earth Hour is a global phenomenon, doing our part to raise awareness of the initiative and actively take part in the same gives us a sense of pride knowing that we are contributing to create a sustainable world. Hotel guests are often the very people whomiss out on the event due to their travel schedules," he said.
"By turning off non-essential lights, evoking candle power and involving both staff and guests during the hour in the lobby of the Millennium Plaza, we have made our small contribution as part of the larger efforts throughout the UAE and the Middle East."
