Mike Miller Calls on Bob Snelling to Stop Ducking Debates in House District 66 Race
Miller Challenges Bob Snelling to Three Debates before the Run-off.
- Atlanta, GA (1888PressRelease) August 07, 2012 - Today Mike Miller, candidate for Ga. State House District 66, called on his opponent Bob Snelling to stop ducking debates after Mr. Snelling was a no-show at Saturday's scheduled Douglas County GOP candidate forum for the House District 66 Run-off. Miller further challenged Bob Snelling to three debates on ethics, education and the economy in the district before the August 21st GOP Primary Run-off.
"I am disappointed that Bob Snelling would duck a scheduled forum for candidates in the House District 66 Run-off hosted by the Douglas County GOP," said Miller. "The voters of Douglas and Paulding Counties expect candidates to explain their positions and debate their opponents before earning the opportunity to represent them. I challenge Mr. Snelling to a series of debates in the district so that voters can form informative opinions about this race before the Run-off."
The Douglas County GOP candidate forum on the House District 66 race was well attended by voters seeking information about the candidates in the upcoming run-off. Miller articulated his positions on key issues ranging from strengthening our ethics laws to lessening the regulatory and tax burden on small businesses to promoting more choice in education.
As a member of the Douglas County School Board, Miller fought for transparency and accountability and has continued those principles in his campaign for the state legislature. A proponent of ethics and openness in government, he would also like to see more transparency and accountability in campaigning.
"The voters of House District 66 deserve a campaign that is focused on the issues and is transparent and open" said Miller. "They have a right to learn about the candidates' positions on important issues and debates are good way to educate voters. I call on Mr. Snelling to please reconsider his position of ducking debates."
