Microvec Launches Ultra-High-Resolution High-Speed Cameras for PIV
Microvec launches two new high-speed camera models with higher resolutions than typical high-speed cameras.
- (1888PressRelease) May 10, 2024 - Microvec, a leading developer of analytical systems used in fluid mechanics, has announced their new MV21 and MV8 high-speed cameras. The MV21 is the world’s largest camera system in terms of resolution. It can capture 1,000 frames per second (fps) at an astounding 21 megapixels (5120 x 4096 pixels) and at a transfer rate of 210 Gbp/second. The MV8 model has a frame rate of 2,000 fps and a resolution of 8 megapixels (4096 x 2048) and a transfer rate of 160 Gbp/second.
At 21 megapixels, the MV21 achieves a significantly higher resolution than a typical high-speed camera and opens the door to applications with a need for extremely high-spatial resolution recordings. It can give the users an unmatched wider insight into what they can see and understand. It features a 4.5 µm pixel size, minimum 1 µs exposure time, standard RAM up to 320 GB, and optional SSD with up to 24 TB.
Both models use the newest generation CMOS sensors with a pixel depth of up to 12-bit and a sensitivity of 10,000 ISO. They can transfer the data with a 10Gb ethernet interface and have an easy-to-use control and acquisition software.
