Both are ASCAP songwriters with impressive song portfolios, dating back to the 70s. On this project Michael writes music, and David the lyrics.

Michael Shainsky was an active hit songwriter in the former USSR, immigrating to the US in 1990. His educational background – Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelors in Music - quickly landed him a job of… DELIVERING PIZZA. In 1991, by a stroke of luck, he begins work in the sound recording field, including assisting the multi–platinum, multi-Grammy Award winning Mega Producer, Arranger, and Music Composer Walter Afanasieff. Then, there was a job at Books On Tape, Inc., the world's leading audio book company, where he advanced to a managerial position, ending it in 1998 in order to go full-time in to his new venture. A tour company, Sunnyside Tours, Incorporated, was launched in August 1994. The CEO of the corporation, Michael travels through time and cultures, while continuing to create music.

In 2007, Mr. Shainsky meets Emmy Award-winning writer, author and lyricist David M. Matthews – a talented music composer himself, and M.I. SHAINSKY, THE PROJECT, is born. “LOVE IS NASTY”, followed by "I Want To See Love In Your Eyes" are the results of their collaboration.
