Michael Kors watches are launching the collection of classic, cool and contemporary watches internationally.
- (1888PressRelease) February 25, 2012 - After serving up its mix of sporty glamour at New York Fashion week, the eponymous designer behind Michael Kors Watches has announced an aggressive expansion plan in to China.
The group has announced plans to open more than 100 stores in the area (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) over the next three years.
The company also announced its intent to increase its presence in the lucrative Japanese market.
In the latest sales period, total wholesale sales to distributors such as the Watch Hut surged ahead 55% for the 30-year-old brand. Amongst its largest sellers were watches, which helped licensing revenues increase by 44%.
As usual for shows given by the company behind the successful Michael Kors Watches brand, many celebrities attended the show.
These included the star of The Eye and Sin City, Jessica Alba and Amber Herd who starred alongside Johnny Depp in the recent film adaptation of the Hunter S. Thompson novel 'The Rum Diary'. Also at the event was former WWE Wrestler Stacey Kiebler.
