Michael Grandinetti Creates NFL Halftime Magic at Bank of America Stadium
For the first time in their history, the Carolina Panthers are bringing magic to halftime at Bank of America stadium. On September 20, Michael Grandinetti will attempt to cause people to appear, disappear, and float in the center of the field.
- (1888PressRelease) September 17, 2012 - Illusionist Michael Grandinetti is once again pushing the boundaries of the art of magic. On September 20, Michael will bring original magic and illusions to Bank of America Stadium, in Charlotte, NC, where he will present an all new halftime show during the Carolina Panthers home game against the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.
During the show, a sold out live audience of 70,000 people will watch from 360 degrees as Michael causes members of the Panthers Cheerleaders to appear, vanish, and even shrink in size. For the show's finale, Michael plans to levitate 10ft into the air, directly above the 50 yard line, to retrieve the game ball for the second half. The show will also be audience interactive and feature a custom music soundtrack.
This NFL halftime show mark's Michael's third stadium performance, having appeared previously at both Citizens Bank Park and Kauffman Stadium. During these shows, Michael created such amazing feats as making the 300lb, 7ft tall Philly Phanatic magically appear in the outfield and reading the minds of all 45,000 people, in each stadium, at the same time. "I love the opportunity to bring my magic to brand new environments and our stadium shows definitely pose a unique but very exciting challenge," Michael said. How does one create grand illusions, outdoors, under bright lights, while surrounded in all directions? While Michael and his team won't divulge their secrets, they will say that it takes many months of hard work and planning.
Michael's fall schedule will also bring him to theaters and events around the country, including the Riverside Resort & Casino in Riverside, Iowa on September 30 and the A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 20. Michael's performance in Pittsburgh marks the first time in ten years that he is bringing his full illusion show back to his hometown and he has several new surprises in store, including his attempt to walk through a 7ft tall wall of solid steel.
Michael Grandinetti is truly one of the country's busiest entertainers. Over the past 15 years, Michael has appeared on countless stages and television programs including NBC's "The World's Most Dangerous Magic", "Entertainment Tonight", "New York Today", "Fox & Friends", "The Bold and the Beautiful", "Crook & Chase", and "The Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon". With a true passion for amazing audiences, Michael has performed at Heinz Hall with three time Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Grand Central Station in New York City, Navy Pier in Chicago, the MGM Grand and Foxwoods Resort and Casino in Connecticut, the Fairmont Orchid Resort in Hawaii and on the red carpet of ESPN's ESPY Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. Michael was also honored to be a featured performer at The White House Easter Celebration. Earlier this year, Michael was the closing performer in "It's Magic!", a theatrical production, now in it's 56th year, which has become an annual tradition throughout California.
