Miami Shores Chamber Of Commerce Hosts The Annual Green Day Street Fair
Part of the Global Celebration of Earth's Natural Resources.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2013 - Miami Shores Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present its Annual Street Fair with a new "Green Day" theme, on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Downtown Miami Shores. The fair is free and will take place on NE 2nd Ave, between 94th and 100th Street, from 3:00 till 8:00 p.m.
The Street Fair is Miami Shores' largest outdoor event and will incorporate all of the elements of previous Street Fairs - great food, live music, art, community groups, and family-friendly activities. Newly christened "Green Day", this educational and entertaining event, will demonstrate greener and healthier alternatives at home, including, decorative and edible gardening at home and around the community. During the festival, local organizations will take part in special Green Day activities, such as Bicycle Block, Oasis in the City, Roots of Rhythm, Slow Food in Motion, Breathe Deep and many more. "Green Day was created to focus on the earth's natural resources, food, energy, and environment," says Lance Harke, Chamber President. "The goal is to bring together a variety of representatives from the State of Florida and Miami-Dade County departments, as well as healthy food vendors, local schools, artisans, etc. This will create a unique festival marketplace to attract local residents and tourists visiting Miami to discover and celebrate the goodness of green."
The event will also feature environmentally friendly products, services and demonstrations including: FPL energy exclusive "Your Home's Energy Assessment, Home Depot's clinics for both children and adults, healthy nutrition, well-being alternative medicines, critical health check-ups, author appearances, farmers markets, electric and hybrid vehicles, bike alley and children's sports and other fun activities. Food trucks, wines, beers and fine dining options will also be available alongside two stages presenting live, musical entertainment.
