Miami Dolphin's Kendall Langford Scores With Miami Youth At Free Camp
Local Miami youth enjoyed a fun filled day on the field with Kendall Langford during his inaugural free football camp for kids on March 26th at the NFL Yet Center.
- Miami, FL (1888PressRelease) April 01, 2011 - Kendall's NFL colleagues, who share his mission to inspire and encourage youth through football, came out to lend their support.
Kendall's camp team included Antoine Bethea (Colts), Torell Troup (Bills), Antwan Barnes (Chargers) and his Dolphin teammates Cameron Wake, Channing Crowder, AJ Edds and Brian Hartline. Area youth and high school coaches guided campers through fundamental football techniques and skills, while Bommarito Performance Center ran speed and agility drills that they utilize in training their pro athlete clients.
Off the field, the campers received lunch, an official camp T-shirt, gift bags, Hustle awards and a mentoring session with the NFL players. During the camp's "Chalk Talk" session, the players shared their stories, discussed the importance of education, choosing the right friends, and that the key to their success is hard work.
The camp proved to be an incredible outreach effort to a community in need of positive reinforcement from these kids' NFL heroes. "We were honored to be part of this event and hope to continue this partnership with Kendall in years to come. He is passionate about supporting the kids in this community and we applaud his efforts and those of all the other players that attended," said Bobby Johnson, Youth Manager of the NFL Yet Center.
"If I can inspire one kid through my camps, then I've accomplished my goal," Kendall added, "My parents were great role models and I'd like to pass some of that on to the young people I meet." Kendall will continue his mission to empower and inspire youth through football with several off-season events in his hometown of Petersburg, Virginia.
